CIFAL has worked with the Soviet Union, and then Russia, since the beginning of the 1950’s. Since that time, CIFAL has completed there dozens of industrial projects.
At the start of the 1970’s, CIFAL was one of the very first French companies to be accredited in the USSR. Its original activity, industrial engineering, gradually evolved to the supply of commercial services, including industrial representation on behalf of major western companies and industrial services in the oil and gas sector.
The various specialized branches of CIFAL’s Moscow office (Representative office, CIFAL NEFTEGAZ, CIFAL INVEST, CIFAL DECO and CEP) include over forty collaborators and exclusive consultants.

Nuclear :
First uranium enrichment contract signed in 1974 between CEA (later COGEMA) and Techsnabexport (Russia). CIFAL has provided project support since that time.
Negotiation alongside the COGEMA (AREVA group), CAMECO and NUKEM companies, and the signing, in 1999, of a long-term contract for the purchase of natural uranium, coming from Russian nuclear disarmament (as part of the HEU-LEU Russian-American contract). The Moscow representative office has provided contract monitoring on behalf of three companies since then.
Signing and support of French equipment delivery contracts for the Russian fuel cycle industry (the W plant in Zelenogorsk, near Krasnoyarsk and UF6 transfer installations)
